After talking to several coaches, we found that most kids are ready after about 8–12 weeks of training, at least 3 times a week.
By then, they know the basics, have decent fitness, and can have a good match with other beginners.
They won’t feel perfect, and that’s normal. The truth is, most kids
never feel 100% ready for their first comp.
The first one is always the hardest. After that, it gets much easier.
